thanks everyone! today I had a bit of a revelation, which I'll post about soon. It won't be as heavy, I promise!

"sphere"! ha ha!

I still think I might get a second opinion. But then again, I rode 110 miles on the bike last week. That's gotta count for something!

I'll keep y'all posted.

If the retest comes back with no progress - take the drugs -- and monitor the depression at the same time. As to the relationship -- marriage is 60% misery - 20% okay and 20% good. Children are 100% good which makes the 60% manageable. Which is also why you need to take that medicine. Your children desperately need you.

Cube, I don't know you but this is some serious stuff. I guess my question would be 'Is this doc aware of your depression'?, if so, how does that play into suggesting to put you on Statins? I could say that you can't stress over what you can't control (I hear your grinding your teeth at me), let me say that you are taking the measures to try something (which is great), and SEE if it helps. If it doesn't help, what other options do YOU want to try or suggest to your doc? I would think there has to be some middle ground that would make you and your doc comfortable. GL with your re-test. Re: the relationship, I would tend to suggest a counselor, for either you alone or a marriage one - but that is totally just something that I would do - you have to do what you and your wife are comfortable with as well.

I created another webpage. No one knows about it except one other person who doesn't read it unless I tell them too. I keep it private as well - that way no one can read it. It is more along the lines of protecting loved ones, therefore not wanting to make it public for EVERYONE. Maybe you try it and keep that page just to yourself. If you want to keep it public - just let people find you. You don't have to tell them about it. That way you can be you there and it won't necessarily be people that expect you to be a certain way.

However, may I suggest that you just be you, and stand firm in your values and beliefs, there is no one that you need to answer too - other than YOURSELF! (and your immediate-and I do mean AG, MM and D-family). If you are you with them, you have NOTHING to lose in being yourself.

I also would have to say that I think that we would all still love you. There is something in you (other than being "perfect") that we all love about YOU. I for one love your honesty, helpfullness and humor:)

Don't you hate political discussions? I have told all my students today that I am voting for who I want to be president. And that we have a secret ballot so I don't have to share! Feel VERY special since I shared my political views with you!

TAKE IT. As someone who lost a parent at a young age - TAKE IT. Do everything in your power to keep yourself healthy. Some people just can't do it alone - and in ages past - survival of the fittest would have taken over, but we live in an age that gives us the opportunity to improve the health and length of our life - TAKE IT. And keep talking to your Doc about all of this.
